Pure steam generators
System description

Elettracqua pure steam units are designed for the production of sterile, pyrogen free pure steam for pharmaceutical applications.

Elettra pure steam generator consists of two main components, an evaporator and a vapor-liquid disengaging section, combined as one cylindrical column.

Heating steam flows through the shell side of the evaporator section, while the feed purified water flos through the internal tubes, from the bottom to the top, the pure steam generated within the evaporator section flows upward to the vapor- disengaging section.

The vapor liquid disengaging section is positioned at the top portion of the vertical cylindrical column. The high velocity of steam, coupled with enhanced centrifugal separation provided by the vapor liquid disengaging components, ensures the estremely high quality steam is produced.

Pure steam production flowrate up to 4000 Kg/h, pressure from 1 to 6 barg.

For the safety of a complete separation between the aseptic product and the secondary heating medium, industrial steam, each and of the heat exchanger incorporates a twin tube plates. The heat exchanger design is shell and the tube and all the parts are fabbricated of AISI 316L stainless steel, the connections are T/C.

Vapor - Liquid Disengaging Device
No demister, high velocity cell clone is used to separate the water particles.  
Centrifugal forces literally spin the steam throwing any entrapped water.
Demisters, using material such as wire mesh provides water "hold up" generally considered  unacceptable.

Cyclone Steam Separator

Two basic priciples are used to separate water dropplet from pure steam reaching over 99% of efficenty. .

  1. High steam speed creating centrifugal forces that separate any entrained water particles and throw them to the outer wall of separator to drain.
  2. Double 180 turns: the pure steam flow direction is forced to double 180° turns inducing gravity separation of larger water droplets
  3. Less Hygening demister not used .
  4. No moving parts - maintenance reduced.
  5. Material: AISI 316L ASTM269/270.
  6. Finishing:

    0,6 um Ra (available as option <0,4 um Ra, mirror finishing, Ferrite content <0,5%)

The steam separation method is the heart of the system being installed inside the evaporator column, directly in contact with the pure steam produced.

The pharmaceutical customers pay attention to the materials and surfaces finishing, the cyclone system, is the only device designed to meet all the material and finishing requirements, including ferrite tests.

The cyclone separation system for its nature is a fully hygienic device.

The demister was traditionally used for the steam separation in the industrial applications.

System Management
The column is provided of a dedicated 4-20 mA level of transmitter managing the pump converter for a better flow adjustment inside the steam generator during transient industrial steam pressure.
